# How do I get caught up on a long email thread fast?

Ask a Dae to catch you up. It reads the whole Gmail thread and the Slack talk around it, and tells you what was agreed, what is still open and who owes what.

**The Catch me up on a thread Dae** (Everyday): Reads a long thread and the Slack talk around it, and tells you what was agreed and what is still open.
Apps: Gmail, Slack.

## How to set it up

1. **Connect Gmail and Slack.** Sign in to Gmail and Slack once from daework. No API keys, no MCP servers, nothing to install. You choose which Daes may use each App.
2. **Tell a Dae the job.** Start a new Dae and say it in plain words: “Catch me up on the Lumen renewal. What did we agree, and what is still open?”
3. **Read the result.** It only reads, works and reports, so it needs no OK. The result stays in the chat and in your Files.

## The run, step by step

A sample run at a made-up business. Names and numbers are made up.

- You: Catch me up on the Lumen renewal. What did we agree, and what is still open?
- (Read thread · Gmail · Lumen renewal · 23 emails)
- (Searched Slack · Slack · #sales · 4 messages)
- Catch up: Agreed: Lumen renews at 12 seats, $6,400 a year, from Nov 1. Priya confirmed on Oct 12. Saved views are included. Still open: 1. Priya asked for a 30-day way out in the first quarter. Nobody has answered since Oct 16. 2. Their finance team needs a W-9. Sam said in #sales he would send it, and I don't see it sent. Shall I write Priya about the 30 days?

## Questions

### Does it send or change anything without me?

No. This job only reads, researches and reports. If it ever needs to send an email, pay or post, that waits for your OK.

### Do I need an API key or MCP server for Gmail and Slack?

No. You sign in to Gmail and Slack once from daework and the Dae uses it. There is no API, MCP or Zapier setup.

### What does it cost?

Every plan includes every App and every Dae. Plus is $30 a month and covers a full week of everyday jobs like this one. There is no free plan.

### Are these numbers real?

No. This is a sample run at a made-up business, played in a copy of the app. Every step is something a Dae does with the Apps shown.
